Rape Boy 6 Years, British Army 9 Years Prison Sentence

A British military officer sentenced to nine years for the rape of a 6-year-old girl. The rapes took place when the British soldiers following the military adventure camp in Austria. Stormey Craig was in the camp which is in the valley of Stubaital Alpine, Austria when the rape occurred. In a court hearing held in the city of Innsbruck as reported by Reuters on Wednesday (15/07/2015), revealed that rape carried out when the 30-year-old soldier was in a drunken state. Mentioned that, Stormey drunk, entered the victim's home were not locked. Stormey pleaded guilty to charges of rape. But he insisted he did not fully remember what happened on the night of the incident. The man was arrested outside the victim in November 2014, after was spotted by the victim's father. "We can confirm that a British soldier had been convicted in Austria on a child rape and assault of state authority and sentenced to nine years in prison," said a spokesman for the British police told the BBC. "In accordance with normal procedure when a soldier was sentenced to prison, the application will be made for his dismissal from the military," he added. US court backs contentious execution drug

THE US Supreme Court has upheld the use of a controversial sedative in executions by lethal injection, saying it does not violate the constitution.

IN a 5-4 ruling, the court's five conservative-leaning justices said that the plaintiffs- death row inmates in Oklahoma - failed to show that midazolam constituted a "substantial risk of severe pain".

As a result, they said, the drug does not violate the Constitution's eighth amendment ban on cruel and unusual punishment.

The decision was a setback for opponents of capital punishment in the United States, the only Western country that still carries out executions.

"It's hard to imagine what could be crueller than a prolonged, torturous death, or more unusual," said Diann Rust-Tierney, executive director of the National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty.

"The death penalty is on the outs... Yet that message clearly hasn't risen up to the highest court in the land," she said on Monday.

The Supreme Court, in an April 2008 decision, upheld the constitutionality of execution by lethal injection.

But since then, a refusal by manufacturers - mainly European - to supply the required drugs has led states like Oklahoma to seek out alternatives, including midazolam.

In April 2014, Oklahoma death-row inmate Clayton Lockett took an agonising 43 minutes to die and could be seen writhing in pain during the prolonged execution.

A few months earlier, Ohio inmate Dennis McGuire took 26 minutes to die, while Arizona death-row convict Joseph Wood took 117 minutes in July 2014.

Lethal injection executions are expected to take 10 minutes, and in all three cases, the men could be seen gasping for air.

A fourth plaintiff, Charles Warner, was executed in Oklahoma in January this year, after the Supreme Court rejected his last-minute appeal for clemency.

On the execution table, Warner - convicted of raping and killing an 11-month-old girl - said it felt like his body was "on fire".

Scotland Yard team arrives in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: A two member team of Scotland Yard on Monday morning arrived in Islamabad in connection with the murder case of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Dr Imran Farooq.

According to the Interior Ministry, media reports regarding a team arriving in Islamabad a couple of days ago were inaccurate.

Sources said Moazzam Ali Khan, one of the alleged accused in the murder case of Dr Imran Farooq, has also been shifted to Islamabad, apparently in the wake of arrival of Scotland Yard police team.

Moazzam Ali was arrested in April this year from Azizabad area of Karachi.

Sources told Geo News that Pakistani officials and Scotland Yard team would jointly interrogate the suspect.
